Sugar Beach Resort Mauritius
Sugar Beach Resort Mauritius
This resort occupies a 1.5km stretch of powder white sand beach in Flic-en-Flac, with views of the Unesco World Heritage monolith, Le Morne Brabant, on the horizon. The main building, a tropical French-style 19th-century veranda house, has a stylish entrance with black-and-white tiled floors, double-height windows and a sightline to the beach.
There’s a constant thrum of activity in the mostly open spaces, with restaurant terraces spilling out towards the swimming pools and beach. By day, a wedding might take place either on the Manor House lawn, the lush tropical gardens or on the beach. By night, live bands or DJs play their sets by the pool until around 10pm.
Boredom is an impossibility. There are two large main pools, including a designated quiet zone for adults, while the children’s area has a walk-in side. Guests can learn martial arts; participate in perfume-making workshops, join island treasure hunts by boat; or play a few rounds of Crazy croquet.
This is one of the most child-friendly hotels in Mauritius. The Kids Club and Teens Club have a huge range of activities, including barbecues and campfire dinners.
